HOW Live-in Care WORKS
Personal & considered approach
Live-in care is designed to be a simple, supportive and a carefully managed process, ensuring individuals and their families feel informed and reassured at every stage.
At Bath Live-in Care, we take a personal & considered approach, guiding you step by step from your initial enquiry through to ongoing support.
Initial conversation
We begin with an informal conversation to understand your situations we can make personal, informed decisions. This is an opportunity to:
- Talk through your current circumstances
- Understand any immediate concerns
- Explore whether live-in care may be suitable
- Answer any initial questions
There is no obligation, this is simply a chance to gain clarity and reassurance.
Understanding needs & preferences
If you decide to proceed, we take time to gain a fuller understanding of the individual’s needs, routines and preferences. This may involve a more detailed assessment, considering:
- Personal care needs
- Mobility and safety
- Medical conditions & support requirements
- Daily routines and lifestyle preferences
- Home environment
- Social interests & companionship needs
Understanding the person as an individual is central to ensuring the right support is put in place.
Care planning and matching
Based on this understanding, we develop a clear and personalised plan of support.
We then carefully match a live-in carer, taking into account:
- Experience and skills
- Personality and compatibility
- Communication style
- Shared interests where appropriate
Our focus is on creating a relationship that feels natural, respectful and supportive.
Introducing your carer and starting care
Once a suitable match is identified, we will:
- Introduce the carer
- Agree a start date
- Ensure everything is in place for a smooth transition
We aim to make the start of care as calm and seamless as possible, with clear communication throughout.
Ongoing support and review
Our involvement does not stop once care begins.
We continue to provide oversight and support, including:
- Regular contact with the individual and family
- Reviewing care as needs change
- Ensuring continuity and consistency
- Being available for guidance and reassurance
By maintaining a small number of placements, we are able to remain closely involved and responsive.
